Bob Weir & Wolf Bros – Sweetwater Music Hall run poster

Today I will be releasing a print new print done for the great Bob Weir & the Wolf Bros. for their 3-day run of shows at Sweetwater Music Hall (Mill Valley, CA). I grew up a big Grateful Dead fan and have been lucky to work with different variations of the band and their members over the years, this being my 2nd with Weir.

The idea was to not lean too heavy on Grateful Dead imagery or references and keep the overall vibe rustic, like a mix of modern and California frontier times. I am a sucker for representing my fellow redheads when I can, so it was an easy decision to make one the star of the piece.

The final poster is a 6-color, 18″ x 24″ print. I will have a small run of Artist copies available (35) on Aug. 6th @ 11am (EST).

Slightly Stoopid 2019 Summer Tour poster

This week I will be releasing my first print done for the SoCal band, Slightly Stoopid for their recent show in Avila Beach, CA. We had spoken in the past about doing a print together but unfortunately I wasn’t able to schedule one until now but am happy to join the long line of rad posters they have been releasing over the years by the likes of Emek, Jimbo Philips, Methane, etc.

The concept came to me pretty quickly. Along with “surf”-related imagery, there is a bit of a theme of skeletons popping up in Stoopid’s posters. Im from a beach town and riding the boardwalk was always key so I figure that image would work perfectly and lead to a fun layout.

I will be releasing my copies on Aug. 6th @ 11am (EST) which will include 40 Artist Edition (signed/numbered) copies as well as 20 Rainbow foil (signed/numbered) variants. Props to Backside Press for the great print job .

String Cheese Incident Fourth of July blowout in KY & ATL

Pop, Pop, sizzle, sizzle… The Fourth of July is upon us and The String Cheese Incident made their way back down South. I was given the task of coming up w/ an eye-catching print for their Atlanta & Louisville run of shows this past week and will be releasing them tomorrow.

It being the Fourth of July weekend, there was plenty of patriotic nuggets to pull from in terms of concepts. This being my 21st poster for String Cheese, at some point you need to worry about keeping it fresh and not repeating previous imagery or color schemes. I am a fan of the old 60’s artist, Peter Max and his use of vivid colors and wanted to attempt something in that vein. Immediately the idea of a kind of Mad Hatter/Uncle Sam hybrid came to mind.

The final poster is a 6-color screenprint (18″ x 24″) printed by Ray & the folks at Good Thoughts (Boulder, CO). I will have my run of Artist copies including a small run of Rainbow foil variants available on July 10th @11am (EST).
