Green Lantern Califari strain print. Happy 420 everyone!!!
Just in time for the big 420/2020 celebration is another collab with cannabis connoisseurs, Califari. They have been producing an awesome series of strain art with a bunch of super talented Artists and this is my 3rd piece for them. The previous 2 being Sour Diesel & Blueberry.
The final poster is a 5-color screenprint printed by Backside Press here in Atlanta. I will have my Artist Edition copies (Signed & Numbered… run of 25) available on May 1st @ 11am (EST). This will also include a very small run of “Rainbow foil variants” (Signed/Numbered run of 13) and extra trippy “Cannabis foil” variants (Signed/Numbered run of 13).
I recently caught up with the folks at Califari for a little interview about our recent collabs, how I got into gigposters and staying sane with a toddler during the Coronavirus…. click below
GarciaLive Vol. 13 poster & animation
I recently had the pleasure to work again w/ the Jerry Garcia Estate to create artwork for the release of the new GarciaLive vol. 13 which is a double-disc re-release of a live concert (Hoffman Estates 1989 featuring Clarence Clemons). Much like I had done a couple years ago with GarciaLive vol. 6, I was tasked to create a shirt & a poster for the big release.
The concept of the alley cat moonlight jam band came pretty easily and was a reference to the theme of “Cats” that pop up a lot in Garcia imagery & lyrics, including the famous Cats Down Under the Stars track (featured on this album).
Another part of the project was turning the artwork from the poster into a little looping animation to be used during a live stream of the album on Facebook as well as for social media. I have been messing with little animations lately and enlisted the help of my buddy Corey Ellis for the task.
The final poster is a 5-color screenprint printed by the folks at Baker Prints. I will have my Artist Edition copies (Signed & Numbered… run of 25) available on April 27th @ 11am (EST).
