Tame Impala at Terminal 5 poster – NYC

Tame Impala - NYC - 2015

I have been a fan of Aussie band Tame Impala for a while but never had the opportunity to work with them until recently. They are currently wrapping up their US tour, supporting their album Currents which kicks as and I got the privilege of doing one of their big NYC shows last week at Terminal 5.

The concept behind the piece was a kind of psychedelic soundwave effecting the Statue of Liberty. The original sketch was a simpler and the headphones and equalizer cityscape made their way into as it was being fleshed out in the inking phase. I wanted the colors to be bolder & more in-yo-face than some of my previous work. Kinda flat…

My Morning Jacket – Santa Barbara, CA poster

MMJ_SB_final

My Morning Jacket hit up sunny surf-haven Santa Barbara last week and along with it a new poster. The latest album kicks ass and I wanted to create something that touched up on the same cosmic feel as their music.

I wanted something trippy and as it seemed obvious for Santa Barbara, something that had to do w/ surfing. I’ve always wanted to do some Surf-themed pieces and really hope to do more down the line. Anyways, I tried a couple different approaches and in the end I liked the concept of a Galactic Surfer who hit up different planets… a “Cosmic Night Rider”, if you will.

Crafty Bastards 2015 in DC….. Scraped Knee is back baby!!!

Crafty2

When living in DC I used to love doing the Crafty Bastard Arts & Craft Fair. Washington DC I thought at the time kinda had a bit of void for crazy art & craft events and basically the art scene as a whole wasn’t as noticeable as it once was, but the Crafty Bastard show as a rare diamond every year. It was always an extremely strong show, pulling vendors from all over the country and the staff putting it on were the nicest and most accommodating folks of any show I had done. Even after moving back to the opposite side of the country I tried to make it back.. but it has been hard. But 2015… SCRAPED KNEE IS BACK BABY!!!!!!

I will be releasing my new Hop HeadDC Brau collaboration T-shirt with the opportunity to get 50% off some growler fills…

The event is Saturday, Sept. 25 and Sunday Sept. 26 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. outdoors on the Union Market parking lot. I will be at Booth #8
