1986, Zelda variant…..

After a number of requests, I just released a new run of “1986” prints but as Zelda variants. The first one did really well and figured I’d give you Link-lovers a go at it. The colors are a bit different than the original Mario piece, allowing to see some more detail in the toys in the background.

I got asked to be in the latest Gallery 1988 show in Venice Beach, entitled The Old School Video Game Art Show – Level 2. From what I have seen it is a sweet collection of pieces,.. wish I could have made it over for the opening.

2 new Eric Church prints, Fairfax & Charlottesville….

Eric Church is back on tour and I was happy to be asked back to contribute to this new tour. The last Church prints I did for the “Blood, Sweat & Beers” tour, Binghamton & Tupelo, seemed to get a good response as did the whole poster series and showed that screenprinted gigposters have a place in Country music. Who knew?

Being that I am in the DC area now, I was glad to get 2 local gigs…. Fairfax & Charlottesville, VA.

The prints will go on sale on the site the day after their show dates,.. so Fairfax is up now !!!!!!
and Charlottesville Sunday morning.

It is a limited run (I will be selling AP’s, Artist Prints), so there will be a limit of 2 per design/per order as the last Church tour became a prime target for poster flippers buying and selling prints on eBay for twice the price. I want these to get into the hands of the people that want them…

Jerry Garcia shirt, “Painted Mandolin”…

I recently had the honor of being asked to do some merch work for the Jerry Garcia Estate. They were looking to fill out and revitalize their merch line and contacted myself and a couple other artists with the idea of using Jerry’s songs and lyrics to create new art. I luckily was given the task to translate the song “Rubin & Cherise” which holds some weight in the Leunig family. I’ve been a fan of the dead for a while but growing up my sister was a big deadhead and her and her husband were all about this song, naming their 1st son Rubin. You get the idea…

The song takes place during New Orleans carnival and is about a seducer, Rubin, with his painted Mandolin. Cherise dances for him while trying to keep his eyes off other ladies, … romantic right?

The concept took a couple different turns but once locking in on doing the “mask” idea and testing a couple different version, the final look just kinda come into fruition.

The shirt along with some other new designs are available in the Jerry Garcia Store.
