Dead & Company Chula Vista, CA poster – 2018

Over the years I have been lucky enough to work with a number of different incarnations of the Grateful Dead from Phil & Friends, to the Jerry Garcia Estate, The Mickey Hart Band, Bob Weir & Furthur. This week is the first time I have had the pleasure of working with the current touring incarnation, DEAD & COMPANY for their tour stop in Chula Vista, CA.

The Dead has a lot of traditional imagery they like to use (Dead bears, roses, Uncle Sam, etc..) but I have always been keen on their surf imagery over the years mostly provided by artist Rick Griffin in the 70’s & 80’s. The beachy vibe of the venue being down in the San Diego area felt like the perfect setting for me to try and give my own surfy spin on the Steal Your Face.

Some folks have reached out me asking about the “12-point Lightning Bolt” on the latest Dead & Company poster….. I understand your concerns but don’t you worry, we didn’t forget the 13th. We are heads and know the deal.

The Lightning bolt was stylized below to mix in w/ the pattern of the water… its there.

There was a print run of 550 and I will have 50 copies available (#51-100 ….Signed/Numbered) on Thursday, July 12th @ 11am (PST). Prints will be sold first come first serve to make it fair for everyone so please do not write asking if I can reserve one for you. Once it’s Sold Out,.. its Sold Out!!!

They weren’t first come first serve tho was it. It was in my cart and when I went to pay it was gone. Terrible.

Sorry you didn’t get a poster but there was a limited amount and a high demand. Big Cartel does not have a cart holding system so its the first to complete your order, first serve. Many folks pre-login to Paypal to speed up the process.

Same thing happened to me and I had everything set up to pay, the few seconds it took to type my address they were gone. Not having any luck on eBay either…
