Jake Owen Des Moines, IA poster

I just recently completed my first poster for country singer Jake Owen who had a show in Des Moines, IA this past weekend on Valentine’s Day. His team reached out about doing some artwork for his current tour and we were able to work together on something for his first stop. Over the years I have noticed more and more country stars testing the waters with gigposters which is awesome. Not only is it introducing this scene to a whole new audience but these gigs also allow me to try something outside of my usual wheelhouse.

Jake has kind of a beachy, surf wagon, sunset vibe to his style which I tried to push a bit into the more hyper psychedelic color realm. The original concept had one parrot but after sketching it out I realized with the show being on Valentine’s Day it made more sense to have two.
