Cigar packaging – 2018

Packaging artwork for cigar company, La Barba. Originally the product was named “Primitivo” and the concept stemmed from researching Primitivo grapes and their origins in Croatia. In Croatian mythology they have a Pan-like character named Boratu (or “Briewif”) who is a god of woods/pine & many times is shown with wine. I figured this would be a good place to start and see what we could come up with.

We expanded upon this and came up with the horned/masked logo. The idea was to keep the packaging looking like classic cigar boxes of old but extremely ornate and detailed. Before release it was decided to switch the name to “Ricochet”.
