Widespread Panic “Dream Song Tour” print

The spread of COVID-19 stopped the music industry in its tracks, cancelling tours before many had even begun. One band, Widespread Panic, had to shelf a 14-city tour but not to be deterred decided move forward and create a print commemorating this lost tour,… the one one that got away.

The tour had the working title “The Lost Tour” before the the band came up with the name the “Dream Song Tour” after one of their songs and requested that the concept of the artwork match with something dreamy & etherial. Originally I tried to work in the “Note Eater”, a character famous in WSP lore, as the central figure but found it too distracting. One idea was to work in references from the 14 cities which led to the creation of the snow globe-like brain. Fleshing out the cosmic, dreamy, masked figure came naturally after that.

Along w/ the original version I will be releasing a special “Deep Sleep” blue variant (Edition of 30). There will also be a very small run of foils for each available including a “Rainbow” foil (Edition of 8) for the regular edition, and a “Cosmos” (Edition of 6) & “Moon Lava” (Edition of 6) foils for the Deep Sleep Edition..

All prints are 18″ x 24″ (signed/numbered) and were printed here in Atlanta by Backside Press.
